Q&A - frequently asked questions
How can I develop my skills as a Making Waves employee?
Practise makes perfect, and we encourage personal development. We offer a generous training budget for professional or online training, conferences, English lessons, coaching sessions or even psychological support. Every employee can spend up to 112 hours per year on self-development, and everyone decides what they want to do themselves.
I see that all your customers are companies outside Poland. Do I have to travel a lot as a Making Waves employee?
That’s up to you. We assign you to projects that suit your preferences and needs. Some people love business trips and take every opportunity to work in Oslo, Stockholm or Copenhagen. Others are not able to, or are less interested in travelling. We respect that, and this is also why we discuss this topic during the recruitment process, so that we can define our needs in a transparent way.
Do you have any solutions that support a work-life balance or work-life integration?
We certainly have! We offer flexible working hours within our core hours between 09:00 and 15:00, and it is also possible to work from home. People who have worked at Making Waves for at least three years get two additional days off per year. Those who want time off for a longer period, for example to go travelling, can take unpaid leave.
Which language do you use for internal communication?
Most of us at Making Waves Poland are Polish, but we also have several employees from other countries. We speak English during staff meetings, and English is the language we use in communication with our colleagues from Norway, Sweden and Denmark. However, if you want to improve your language skills, you can use some of your training budget for lessons with native English speakers who teach in our office.
