Client Director

The Client Director reports directly to the Managing Director/Country Manager. You will be a part of the senior leadership of the company, and will also act as a champion of the Making Waves brand and culture, both internally and externally.

Experience & Skills

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has an understanding of digital marketing, transformation, and web development, with the ability to speak on these topics
  • Experience in client services and ideally sales
  • Experience working with C-level executives and a proven ability to constructively challenge a client’s thinking to transform their business
  • Ability to run a meeting confidently
  • Superior presentation and communication skills, and efficiency in responding to communication
  • Advertising, marketing, or agency experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel 25%+

Role & Responsibilities

  • Acquire and develop long-term relationships with strategic clients, providing thought leadership to guide them in the digital space
  • Own senior level client relationships and work to contribute strategic value beyond day-to-day project work, including identifying client risks or opportunities and managing your client teams to effectively respond to these client needs
  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities within your account portfolio, including leading successful contract negotiations
  • Drive client results across all relevant products/services offered by Making Waves as well as The North Alliance
  • For your clients, attain P&L targets through a combination of existing business contributions and new business development
  • Maintain responsibility for all aspects of delivery including utilization management and personnel development, working with the team on all projects within the client portfolio to ensure delivery on time and within budget
  • Develop and lead cross-functional teams to achieve strong client results, working with other managers in the organization (e.g. Technology, Creative, Content, etc.) to identify and resolve any business needs and to pitch new clients
  • Manage documentation including the Master Service Agreement (MSA), Statement of Work (SOW) and change requests; generate invoices on schedule and collect fees
  • Mentor the team and champion continuous improvement throughout the organization, including improvements in the skill level and performance of the team
  • Supervise the work of Account Managers and Project Managers
  • Serve as a liaison between your clients in North America and Making Waves, as well as NoA subject matter experts abroad
  • Work with the senior management team on strategic business and employee initiatives, holding regular meetings and maintaining ongoing communication
